Yesterday the Aspire Awards ran for another year. This ceremony has been running annually since 2016 and is a national celebration that recognises the important contributions made by those disabled by our society.
I was so honoured to be nominated in the “Individual Best Achievement in Community Development and or Advocacy’ category. My name appeared next to some very illustrious and well known others.
The winner was announced to be my friend, the ever focussed change-maker Emma Bennison, CEO of Blind Citizens Australia. Her work is deserving of this accolade and so much more.
Again, I am honoured to be recognised by this award.
