Acquired Brain Injury Workshops in Australia

About By Accident™ Acquired Brain Injury workshops

By Accident™ sessions are professionally mediated by Eva Sifis who uses her training and years of experience to create a welcoming and safe space for everyone. Findings from her constant exploration for ways to repair and recover are shared to begin the conversation.

The workshops give the opportunity for peers to feel comfortable together and share their own wisdom. There may be supporters or family in the room. All are welcome as we all benefit.

How the workshops work

There are 3 sessions, each with it’s own theme; “So Your World Has Changed Forever, Now What?”, “Shifted Perspectives” and “The Way Ahead”. You will hear from others in the room and have the chance to contribute your own discoveries from life with brain injury. Everyone is heard. Everyone has a voice.

The goal of the By Accident? series is to show participants life has not ended after brain injury but has changed shape to what was before. Indeed, the chance is offered to get to know a whole new you.

Discover joy in realising the power to create yourself as you wish to be from this day forward. You can embrace the changes in your thoughts and your very perception. These discussions show a way.

This next life can be our best life, let’s work together to make it so!

Meet Eva, your Workshop Leader

Eva Sifis was a professional dancer working in Australia and overseas. However, whilst crossing a road in 1999, she was hit by a car and sustained severe head trauma.

In a coma for one month, when she awoke, she couldn’t walk or talk. As everything needed to be learnt all over again, she committed herself to the task of recovery with single-mindedness.

After the phase of acute care was over, Eva came to a place where her natural curiosity shone through. Fascinated, she began researching Complementary Therapies. By studying and working with her inner self and outer personality over many years, her knowledge of helpful therapies grew more diverse. Strength was gained and her sense of self blossomed.

By Accident™ is the result of Eva’s years of research and self-practice. During the series of facilitated discussions, strategies and tools are shared. Throughout these conversations all participants are recognised as authorities of their own experiences.
